The International Baccalaureate Progam (now at Hellgate High School) is an NGO of UNESCO - a branch of the United Nations

missoula schools watchdog would like to alert Missoula citizens about the link of the International Baccalaureate Program to the United Nations via UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizations).

In a recent post msw recommended an article found on the truthaboutib.com website regarding UNESCO and how it is dangerous for our young people. This article was written in the 1950's and reveals how UNESCO is difficult to understand but at the same time permeates our American society.

Some of the information on the post just mentioned is also on this post, however, msw wished to have a specific post emphasizing the UN link to the International Baccalaureate Program.

From the wikepedia website on UNESCO one reads the following paragraph:

"The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (French L'Organisation des Nations unies pour l’éducation, la science et la culture: UNESCO; play /juːˈnɛsk/) is a specialized agency of the United Nations (UN). Its purpose is to contribute peace and security by promoting international collaboration through education, science, and culture in order to further universal respect for justice, the rule of law, and human rights along with fundamental freedom proclaimed in the UN Charter.[1] It is the heir of the League of Nations' International Commission on Intellectual Cooperation."

Also from the wikipedia website is the following short explanation of NGO's with a list of the "formal associates" of UNESCO.

As one can see in the list below the International Baccalaureate is first on the list of  these "formal associates".

Missoulians - please take note that our school district, Missoula County Public Schools, under the leadership of Board Chairwoman Toni Rehbein and Superintendent Apostle, is now offering the International Baccalaureate Program for Missoula high school students at Hellgate High School. IB is now in its first year at Hellate.

In other words, Missoula County Public Schools is now offering a program (a very expensive one at that) for approximately
100 students (msw read this is a recent Missoulian article which msw will link to as time permits), a program that is basically sponsored by the United Nations.

On the truthaboutib.com website, one will read how some believe that the International Baccalaureate Program is unconstitutional.

msw urges Missoulians to check out the wikipedia information on UNESCO (perhaps there are other websites that are just as preferable) and the International Baccalaureate Program and voice their opinion against the IB program to the school district. (msw will try to add the contact information for the district as time permits).
